Are you as sick of the lies, untruths, negative propaganda, and spin as I am?

When did we become such a society that we can’t discern truth from untruth, out and out lies from little white lies, negative innuendos from facts?

Watch any commercial and you will be bombarded by twisted facts, exaggerations, unworthy implications, anything to make the product they want to sell look appealing and desirable. All to make MONEY. No more straight talk like, “this is the product, this is what it is, does and why it may be of benefit to you.” Straight up untarnished undisputable facts. When was the last time you were approached like that about anything?

SPORTS

Our athletes cheat us out of fair competition. Lance Armstrong made millions lying to us. Hank Aaron made his mark the hard honest way and now his record has been over taken by players on steroids to alter their bodies and performance. Is it a fair comparison? Does one deserve to be compared to the other? Perhaps we should have two categories one for the honest hard workers and one for the cheats.

BUSINESS

One –upsmanship at all costs. Forget honor and respectability, or a person’s word is his bond. Cheat, lie, steal to get ahead. Everyone else does. (Well not Everyone! Millions of American were duped, lied to, and cheated by the banks and still they worked to pay their mortgages at all costs. The banks sold and resold bundled mortgages some with AAA ratings and some with much lower ratings all bundled as AAA rated causing the financial crash of 2007 bringing the world economy to it’s knees all. The cause? Unrelenting greed.)

TAXES

“Pay taxes?” question the very rich. “Why? There is this offshore account I know of or keep a second set of books. Or take what you can from the welfare for the wealthy, tax breaks, loop holes, but cheat the country whenever you can. Bottom line: that’s all that counts, to hell with rules. Dodge, cheat, lie; circumvent the laws legally or otherwise.

POLITICS

Look at our elected officials. Both parties, the DNC and the GOP lie to their own party members. Both picked candidates that the other party says is a liar and not trustworthy. Both parties spin just about every contested action, comment, or statement. No he/she didn’t mean this, they meant that. He/She did this for this purpose not that purpose. They cover up for all mistakes instead of just being honest and telling it like it is. No wonder the American people are confused and bewildered; just look at who we have running for the highest office in the land.

ENVIRONMENT

The BS is getting so deep the rising tides due to global warming can’t keep up.

Oh, excuse me, global warming doesn’t exist. Or does it? Listen to the BS on this issue. Some 90+% of the world’s leading scientists agree that global warming is here and it is perpetuated by man, yet way too many of our elected officials call it a liberal plot to harm the energy sector (and I don’t mean the solar and wind sector). Big Oil interests pay to keep this untruth alive and well. Campaign donations, paid pleasure trips, and perks are all legal under our “Bride a Congressman Legally “ business-as-usual in the beltway policy. The rest of us can work harder if we want the American dream. The dream is now a nightmare for millions of the once middle-class Americans, and has been a nightmare for the lower class from the get-goes. Yet, it is these very same Americans who vote these very same bribed politicians into office term after term after term.

ELECTION YEAR

And now that we are in an election year we really are in BS up to our knees and getting deeper. Watching the GOP convention, scratch that, the Trump Convention is enough to make you sick. People wearing an elephant hat or some other insane garb voting for the leader of the free world is scary. I’m not saying a voter needs a PHD but please be a little astute and use some common sense and some logical thought in evaluating and ultimately voting for a candidate. This, after all, is a serious matter. Instead of falling for the anger and fear emotions, use common sense and logical thought. Instead of making it a popularity contest where the prettiest or richest candidate wins, how about the brightest and most caring person wins. Instead of one of the “good ol’ boys winning, how about the one with the best ideas and plans for the betterment of all Americans and all the people of the world.

Unfortunately, that is not how we pick our leaders. It seems like the more skeletons in your closet the better. The more corrupt, the more insincere, the more dishonest just doesn’t seem to matter. Newt Gingrich’s ran in 2012 after having to leave his congressional seat for his corrupt dealings. Chris Christe should be indicted if he isn’t already for his New Jersey dealings and the Bridge episode. And Hillary Clinton has been and or is still under investigation for emails and other dealings.

What a kettle of fish we are in!

This is our country and this is our predicament.

• Where to go for answers?

• How do we right our country and ourselves?

These are all questions that desperately need answers.
